Snug as a Bug was created for the Re:act program; a global company promoting road safety among 17-25 year-olds. The brief required a unique billboard design conveying a positive seatbelt safety message, in three aspect ratios. I also delivered two professional presentations for the client. My design was chosen as a finalist. I reimagined a well-known idiom with a playful twist to engage young audiences and encourage safe driving habits. The cute bug character, wearing their seatbelt correctly, adds personality and reflects my illustrative style. I used simple shading and bright colours for contrast and legibility, ensuring the design would stand out from a distance. This design solves the challenge of reaching a younger audience: it is visually engaging, memorable, and presents the safety message in a fun way, rather than relying on scare tactics.
